For years, the best travel advice always came from someone you trust.
A friend with impeccable taste. The local who knew every neighborhood. The person who always seemed to find the tiny wine bar, the family-run café, or the hotel off the beaten path.
But somewhere along the way, we stopped discovering places through people and started discovering them through feeds.
The internet rewards whatever is best optimized. Search rankings, sponsorships, algorithms, and endless "Top 10" lists. It's made everything feel the same.
The same restaurants.
The same hotels.
The same "hidden gems."
We spend so much time scrolling the grid that we've forgotten what it feels like to go off it.
On the DL is my attempt to bring back getting credible recommendations.
Every place here exists because someone I trust thought it was worth passing along. Not because it paid to be here. Not because it went viral. Because it meant something.
I hope this helps you find places that make you fall in love.
See you somewhere off the grid,
